Baerenthal

“Le grand étang” (the big lake), a fisherman’s haven which can be found at the western end of the village, is also a bird reserve. It is situated in a ‘Biosphere Reserve’ designated by UNESCO. The Zinsel du Nord, a 1st grade river, flows through the length of the village. There is also a place converted for swimming on the leisure grounds known as ‘Ramstein Plage’
